William Miller, the American researcher, author, speaker, critic and Christian priest of Protestant came to Iran since 1919 A.D. for 40 years as the Christian missioner sent by Presbyterian church to proselytize Christianity.
Due to his long residence in Iran, Mashhad [1], he had social intercourse with Babis and Baha’is and became familiar with Bahaism leaders’ teachings, books, and thoughts.
Observing the deceptive proselytizing activities of Bahaism in Europe and America, he decided to expose the realities gained by Babi and Baha’i history and their teachings regarding much data which he had found in Bahaism in Iran. Having extensive data, he could display the reality of Babism [2] and Baha’ism movement and reveal Bahaism tricks for thinkers and truth-seekers.
Miller considers Babism and Bahaism as a cult and religious-political cult and movement. He considers the historical books published by the Baha’i organization as deviated and believes that the existent Baha’i books have been revised, deviated and censored regarding the day transformations.
Miller believes that the real successor of Bab is Mirza Yahya Sobhi Azal entitled “Sobhi Azal” whose brother could usurp his position using an exact planning and coup.

Miller has criticized Abdul Baha and Shoqi Effendi, the successor of Bahaullah. He believes that the Baha’i leaders’ teachings are the ones adapted by the previous holy books of the Iranian culture and common dialogues in the west during 19th and 20th centuries. According to him, the Baha’i leaders even couldn’t establish unity and friendship among the members of their nuclear families with the teachings.
William Miller does not assume Baha’ism as a modern creed. He believes that Bahaullah’s teachings are close to the Middle Ages than the modern period of time. He has also claimed that the Baha’i leaders forbade each kind of Jewish proselytizing because they were present there and dismissed the Baha’i Iranian.
