The secrets known by Sobhi (the ex-Baha’i) due to his close relationships with Abdul Baha and his family was really sensitive and been available by other Baha’is less. Regarding Shoghi’s moral sedition observed by Sobhi closely, Sobhi didn’t think him to be Abdul Baha’s successor at all. Consequently, he was shocked hearing the news about Shoghi’s succession. As he said, it resembled a sledge over his beliefs:
“Anyway, hearing this news caused most literate Baha’is to be astonished. One of them was me. The news beat me like a sledge over my head because I knew Shoghi [1] very well and I knew how he was.”
The stolen cheque:
When Shogi was in Haifa, his relationship with Abdul Baha broke down. Sobhi explains:
“Everybody agrees that after World War I, Shogi was raged by Abdul Baha.”
The reason for this adversity and tribulation and precipitation was hidden until an American lady called” Ruth white” the isolated member of the Baha’i spiritual organization of America and Canada revealed in her book called “the Baha’i religion and its enemy, the Baha’i organization” and denounced the reality. After World War I, this lady and her husband sent an enormous sum cheque for Abdul Baha.
They didn’t receive the receipt to be sent receipt by Abdul Baha. After a while, the lady and her husband came to Haifa and were invited Abdul Baha as gusts. During their residence, Abdul Baha didn’t bout the cheque. Later their residence, the lady had to ask about it. Abdul Baha said he had been unaware of it and ordered his groom Mirza Mohsen Marfoua’ to investigate the issue. After investigation, Marfoua’ said the cheque hasn’t been received! The lady became surprised and came back to America and asked the center for Koks company about that issue. The company asked its branch in Haifa about the issue.
At last, they figured out that Shoghi Effendi has forged Abdul Baha’s signature and has received the numerous money.
In her book, the lady has published the copy of the cheque along with the forged signature of Abdul Baha. After the embezzlement, shogi Effendi, the candidate for the position of the guardian of the faith escaped from Haifa [2].
Could Sobhi accept such seditious person to be religious leader to be followed by him?!
