An example to understand the relationship between Bahaism and Masons (Freemasonry); Getting familiar with Zabihullah Qorban, one of the important members of freemasonry ledge in Fars province

Zabihullah Qorban is one of the most active members of founders of Masonry lodges in Shiraz. Most Masons of Shiraz [1] province had been joined the masonry organization by him.  Zabihullah Gorban was performing alien members’ views and colonial assembly ones particularly the Zionists in education field of Iranian youth as a Baha’i active member of freemasonry and Rotary and his extreme attachment was to such an extent that his name was in the list of the members of all related associations and assemblies like Lions club and Moral Re-Armament, the Carnegie Foundation and the Society of American Fans and the like.

Qorban was considered as the policy maker of Fars province axis cos he played a key role in hidden organization of Sir Shapour reporter in determining policies of Pahlavi [2] system of government. As the den and founder of Shiraz university, Gorban’s power was more than Fars governor and his orders were more influential. Some believe that Qorban had a really close relationship with doubtful death of Seyyed Nouruddin Husseini Al-Hashemi.

      Biography:

Zabihullah Qorban was born in Abadeh city in 1282 S.H. in a Baha’i family. His father, Ali Khan was the ruler of Abadah for a while. He was considered as one of the members of Victoria organization related to MI6 espionage organization in the province. Zabihullah spent elementary and high school educations under the severe supervision of Baha’i assemblies in Shiraz. After learning Arabic fundamentals, he headed off towards Beirut. Then, he studied in medicine course at university guided by the Baha’i assemblies and received his Ph.D. degree. At that time, Beirut city was selected for Qorban to study to be cared and taught by the Baha’i instructors and also to commute Acre and Haifa cities located at occupied Palestine and to be trained by the universal house of justice.

Then, Qorban went to France to complete medicine educations and studied and searched at Lyon university. Then, he headed off towards Britain and next, he came back to Iran and was employed in medical affairs in Shiraz city. He started his activity from the head of health department of Shiraz city hall. Then, he took over the chairmanship of general health services of Fars province. After establishment of Fars medical college, he became the head of it and also he was appointed as the head of Shir-o-Khorshid Sorkh. He took over the presidency of Shiraz medical college.

Zabihullah Qorban was of the most active founding members of Masonry Lodges in Shiraz city and most Masons of Fars province was recruited by him.

Zabihullah’s membership in Freemasonry lodges started from his education periods of time in Beirut. After coming back to Iran, he was elected as the head of a hospital called “Behboudestan”. In this post, he did some measure to expand and preach western culture. Nearly 1310.S.H., Zabihullah Qorban employed a number of girls and women in this center several years before formal announcement of unveiling during Reza Khan’s period of time. Helped by his sister Kia Qorban, Zabihullah employed several Baha’i girls in this hospital. An English lady called Hovhanessian was sent to Shiraz city who was one of the employees of “the British embassy” in Tehran to teach them. In the book “the house of oblivion and Freemasonry in Iran”, vol. 3, p. 464, it is written: “One of the other Baha’i heads whose name and photo have been seen in the documents is Dr. Zabihullah Qorban whose photo has been published on chapter 25 of the book…”[۱] [3]

“Fars province and Shiraz city have always been the center of freemasonries attention. The first freemasonry lodge was established by the British army officers in this city. A lodge which was founded in Shiraz city and was recorded in the same rank with universal lodges numbered 68” Grand National Difference” and was founded consecrated on May, 19, 1960 A.D. in Tehran city and then it was transferred to Shiraz city.”[۲] [4]

In Ismael Raeen’s book, the foundation of this lodge has been introduced by 8 people including Zabihullah Qorban as the founder and influential members. In 1339 S.H.; narrated by SAVAK documents, Hafiz lodge was afflicted by differences when they wanted to accept a new member. The result of interior campaigns was revealing secrets of the lodge in Shiraz city. After this event, Rumi lodge controlled the Hafiz one more. Every month when the lodge meeting was held, “Gholam Hussein Saremi, the esteemed master of “the Rumi lodge” was going from Tehran to Shiraz to take over the mastery position of the lodge. Once or twice, he prevented to go to Shiraz and was blamed and reprimanded by “the greatest master” Dr. Saeed Malik”. From that time on, Hafiz lodge was being administered in secret preserving more secrets.[3] [5]

There were some differences between Dr. Qorban (Baha’i-freemason) and the masters. The campaigns created by the ex-den of Shiraz university and the masters who were the members of “Hafiz” freemasonry lodge related to the Iranian local lodge in one side and their opponents in the other side caused the names of the members of Freemasonry organization of shiraz and their secret operation to be revealed.

In 1340 S.H. (1961 A.D.) when Muhammad Derakhshesh became the minister of culture, he dismissed Dr. Zabihullah Qorban in the first half of the year 1340 S.H from the presidency of Shiraz Pahlavi university. Although Dr. Qorban occupied the den position of Shiraz university in half of the year 1341 S.H. that is a year after his dismissal, those who were fighting against freemasons from Shiraz succeeded at that short period of time to reveal the secrets of Dr. Qorban and freemasons of Shiraz.

The famous poet of Shiraz, Fereydoun Tavallali writes at that time in white and black weekly and reveals Dr. Qorban’s deed:

“One of the other valuable measures of Derakhshesh, the minister of culture is dismissal of a man (called Dr. Qorban) that Fars and Farsi were dominated and endured through hardship by him endlessly.

The uprooting Shiraz university den can’t be liked with any other actions of Derakhshan.”[۴] [6]

One of the other scandals of Qorban who had collaborated with the English advisor, the priest of Shimon Church of Shiraz city and years ago was exactly investigated by Mohit Tabatabase, the scientist and exactly and researcher in Tehran magazines was selecting Shiraz university emblem which was exactly taken and drawn after the shield used by Christians during Crusades and has been palmed off – with cunning sleight of hand – upon the noble and patient nation of Iran.[5] [7]

General Hussein Fardoust who was in charge of all intelligent service activities of Pahlavi regime considers Dr. Qorban as of the M16 elements and agents.

Dr. Qorban became the chairman of Lions of Fars province in 1342 S.H. He was of the founders of Rotary club of Shiraz city. This club was the 6th Rotary club in Iran which was established in 1343 S. H. During the years 1352-1353 S.H., he became the head of this club.[6] [8]

As a Baha’i, Dr. Qorban was the active member of Freemasonry and Rotary nets and was executing aliens and colonial assemblies’ views particularly the Zionists’ in educating Iranian youth domain. His attachment was to such an extent that his name was in the lists of all related assemblies and associations like Lions club, the association of the lovers of America and the like.[7] [9]
