Basically, as it is clear from the name of cult [1], its role in community is to cleave the community to create unity social split. The cults create this role in community intentionally or not because cults are organizations having individualistic slogans and ideologies and they create limitations for the followers and themselves in the society to induce to be distinct from the community and for instance they present better teachings. Consequently; whether you like or not, it causes split and border among people in the community.
In the holy Quran, the religious disunity and the social one have been prohibited and the agent of separation of polytheists has been considered as being accustomed to manifestations of polytheism!”[1] [2]
The Almighty God has ordered to the holy prophet (P.H.) to resist on the right path and to be firm in disunity. [2] [3]
In communities, the cults are of the most important sources of intellectual and theological conflicts and this conflict will have remarkable damages in political systems of government which are based on ideology. In theological systems of government, those who have turned to cults have considered the rudiments of the legitimacy of the government as the aim of their own activities and play key role in unsteadiness directly via tendency towards cults and pandering contrasts and violence.
Cults interpret the basic teachings of religion according to their tastes which are different from the doctrine of the dominant religion (Islam).[3] [4] Brainwashing, intellectual mending , mind control, systematic abuse of social and mental influence, behavioral control, Colonial and imposed persuasion of the common methods of these cults.[4] [5]
In addition to disrupting the function of religious order and unification, the cults disrupt social order, security and ideological integrity by promoting deviant beliefs due to conflicting values and norms with official religion and social order.
In the political dimension, they affect political stability, create security problems and cause violence to be spread by asking the ruling political system for irrational demands and inducing making to be oppressed by creating movements and forming social campaigns. As a result, of increasing violence, indicators of instability in society are increased, and social solidarity and unity, public consensus, and the foundations of government legitimacy are weakened. As a tool for disrupting social unity, these sects sometimes disrupt a country by norm-breaking actions and create numerous problems on the path to its progress.
In Iran, this very negative role of disunity is played by cults such as Baha’ism [6], Sufism sects, newly- emerged cults, and so on.
