Saeedul Olama (P.H.) played a key role in confronting the rebel Babis and removing Mazandaran out of their unclean existence.

Saeed Ibn Muhammad known as Saeedul Olama was born in 1187 A.H. from a spiritual family in Barforoush (Babol). He continued his education after growing up. Then, he continued the theological courses. He learned the rudiments in the presence of his father and other sages of Babol. Then, he traveled to Karbala to continue his education. Then, he headed off to Najaf city.

The great scholar Hajj Agha Bozorg Tehrani, the author of Al-Zarieh writes:

“Saeedul Olama was of the great scholars and jurisconsults and was famous among the science dignitaries of his era. He was known as Saeedul Olama Mazandarani Barforoushi (That is Baboli) He was in the same class with Mola Agha Darbandi, Seyyed Shafi’a Japoghli and Sheikh Morteza Ansari (the author of epistles and Makaseb) and other jurisconsults and scholars. He was one of the prominent students of Shriful Olama mazandarani. One of the signs of his glory of his scientific rank is that he was Sheikh Morteza Ansari’s student. He wasn’t decreeing. He explained the reason as follows:

“During the time when I was leaning, I was the most knowledgeable in the theological school; but I am in the Persian land and I am not successful in learning and discussing; but Sheikh Ansari was seriously busy learning and discussing. Anyway, he is the most knowledgeable…[۱]

This great scholar was died in 1270 A.H. when he was 83. His tomb was in Babol city.

Nabil Zarandi who was one of the known Baha’is writes in his history book: “Saeedul Olama became aware of the news about Mullah Hussein Boshrouyee and his companions’ arrival at Barforoush (Babol); particularly when Saeedul Olama was heard of Mullah Hussein Boshrouyee’s arrival at Barforoush carrying black banners from Mashhad city…”

Then, he writes: “After his arrival at Babolcity, Saeedul Olama announced people to be present in mosque… He went on the pulpit… and said: “O’ people, be aware, the enemies are lying in wait. They are going to destroy Islam and to vanish the Islamic all those who are sacred… be present tomorrow and prepare yourself to prevent this group.[2]
