{"id":11870,"date":"2023-08-01T10:12:46","date_gmt":"2023-08-01T06:42:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bahaismiran.com\/?p=11870"},"modified":"2023-08-01T10:12:46","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T06:42:46","slug":"what-is-the-position-of-the-guardian-of-the-bahai-faith","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bahaismiran.com\/?p=11870&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"What is the Position of the Guardian of the Baha\u2019i Faith?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">In his Will and Testament on page 11,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/bahaismiran.com\/?p=11236&amp;lang=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">`Abdu\u2019l-Bah\u00e1<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>says:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201c\u2026as he [<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Shoghi_Effendi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Shoghi Effendi<\/em><\/a>] is the sign of God, the chosen branch, the Guardian of the Faith, he unto whom all the Aghs\u00e1n, the Afn\u00e1n, the Hands of the Faith\u00a0and His loved ones must turn. He is the Interpreter of the Word of God and after him will succeed his descendants\u00a0<em>bakran ba\u2019d-a-bakr<\/em>\u201c<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>\u2018Bakran ba\u2019d a bakr\u2019<\/em>\u00a0literally means \u2018the eldest son after the eldest son\u2019, or the first-born son of one\u2019s lineal descendants.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In the Will and Testaments on page 12, `Abdu\u2019l-Bah\u00e1\u00a0continues about successorship of the Guardian of the Bah\u00e1\u2019i Faith:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cO ye beloved of the Lord! It is incumbent upon the Guardian of the Faith\u00a0to appoint in his own life-time him that shall become his successor, that differences may not arise after his passing. He that is appointed must manifest in himself detachment from all worldly things, must be the essence of purity, must show in himself the fear of God, knowledge, wisdom and learning. Thus, should the first-born of the Guardian of the Faith\u00a0not manifest in himself the truth of the words:\u2014\u201cThe child is the secret essence of its sire,\u201d that is, should he not inherit of the spiritual within him [the Guardian of the Faith] and his glorious lineage not be matched with a goodly character, then must he, [the Guardian of the Faith] choose another branch to succeed him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Now, compare these statements with the following one.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In his Interpretation of the Book of Revelation, `Abdu\u2019l-Bah\u00e1\u00a0says the following about the verses describing the twenty four elders sitting on seats round about the throne of the Lord,<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAnd round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, \u2026<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[\u06f1]<\/a>\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Yes! `Abdu\u2019l-Bah\u00e1\u00a0was hoping that Shoghi Effendi and his descendants, \u2018<em>bakran ba\u2019d-a-bakr<\/em>\u2018, turn out to be those 24 persons. But, unfortunately, Shoghi Effendi turned out to be infertile instead and the Baha\u2019i Faith encountered a serious challenge, especially about the legitimacy of the Universal House of Justice\u2026<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><u>https:\/\/babandbaha.com\/<\/u><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\">[\u06f1]<\/a> <em>Book of Revelation<\/em>; 4, 4<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In his Will and Testament on page 11,\u00a0`Abdu\u2019l-Bah\u00e1\u00a0says: \u201c\u2026as he [Shoghi Effendi] is the sign of God, the chosen branch, the Guardian of the Faith, he unto whom all the Aghs\u00e1n, the Afn\u00e1n, the Hands of the Faith\u00a0and His loved ones must turn.
