Because the Baha’i religion makers were deprived of the supernatural, basically each kind of existence and effect of metaphysics and ultra-material were rejected by them. However, it is interesting to be noted that contrary to this approach and also the slogan of conformity between religion and science and wisdom. Abdul Baha has considered its image, the greatest name of Baha’i and his fervent prayers as to have ultra-material effect in this cult!
The Baha’ism cult is introducing the necessity for the conformity between religion, science and wisdom as one of the teachings of Baha’ism. Calling this teaching as new[1], Abdul Baha called religion and science as coordinate with each other and assumed everything which is against science and wisdom even religion as illusion and ignorance: “Religion and science are joint. If an issue of religion isn’t really according with science and wisdom, it will be illusion because ignorance is against science and if we say religion is against wisdom it will mean that religion is ignorance[2],[3].”
For this reason, the Baha’i leaders rejected all ultra-material and metaphysics creatures and powers. They have considered the scientific miracles of prophets[4] and also the existence of metaphysic creatures such as jinns[5] as lie and superstition.
Nevertheless, it is interesting to be noted that each kind of ultra-material and metaphysic existence and influence for people and things have been rejected by them, but they have assumed supernatural works for their drawings, photos and prayers: “If you want to be preserved against the aggression of the world powers, hang the greatest name in your residential place and wear a ring on which the greatest name has been written and keep Abdul Baha’s photo at home and always recite my ferval prayers in order to observe the strange effect[6]…”
What a contradiction!!! At last, are there ultra-material and metaphysic works or not?! Is there this effect just in Baha’ism?! Are other religions lying?!!! Of course, definitely; the Baha’ism answer to the contradiction of their creed is that the humane sciences aren’t the correct criteria for measuring their commandments and teachings[7]. Because contrary to all open-minded slogans shouted in the beginning of the article, science and wisdom aren’t being considered by the Baha’i leaders as the criterion for recognizing reality: “Know that today what is perceived by your higher or lower than your wisdom isn’t and won’t be the criterion for recognizing the right.[8]”
