Field marshal Shafaqat was one of the Baha’i heads of the Iranian army who became the governor-general of the Eastern Azerbayjan during the month ending the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
Like Ayadi, Shafaqat was one of the influential people who the Baha’is gloried in him and depended on his influence and power. After his appointment as the head of Baha’i officer army staff, he became more reckless in expressing his creed. His jobs were as follows: The commander of troops, the assistant of kingdom guard, the commander of kingdom guard, the head of section three of Shah’s military office.
In a report dated 1342/06/06, SAVAK announces about his creed: According to the extensive researches about Lieutenant general Dr. Shafaqat concerning his attachment with the Baha’i cult, his attribution and attachment with Baha’ism cult have been confirmed. Meanwhile, he is of the influential people whom the Baha’is of Iran such as Dr. Ayadi, the special physician of Shah gloried in him and depended on his influence and power.
It is practically seen that he has shown more dauntlessness towards his religion.
