Among the secret movements of the Iranian contemporary history which expanded and developed in Iran, Baha’ism became successful to gain political and economic powers and influence. In the process of

investigating the economic and political life of Hojabr Yazdani, one of the most famous and richest capitalists of contemporary Iran, this note must be paid attention that Hojabr, Yazdani was merely a small piece of wealth and power mafic of the Baha’is of Iran.

The following is an interview with Seyyed Kazem Mousawi, the researcher of contemporary history of Iran:

Explain something about the family background of Hojabr Yazdani and his relationship with the Baha’ism organization?

Hojabr Yazdani was the offspring of Reza Goli who was born in 1313 S.H. in Sangsar (Mahdi Shahr), Semnan.

Hojabr finished his elementary school and high school educations in Tehran city. After high school, he turned to his father’s job as shepherd. Hojabr’s both parents were Baha’is and were of the followers of Baha’ism. He got married twice in Baha’i style. Although his second wife was Baha’i, he had 3 daughters and 3 sons. He was one of the influential men in the economy of the second Pahlavi.

What was Hojabr Yarzdani’s economic role in strengthening and preaching the political organization of Baha’ism during Pahlavi government?

First of all, it should be said that the Bahaism organization has been supported by Colonialism since it was established. The function of this dependent foundation has been depended on the deputy force in the direction of Colonial countries; when Czar Russia used it to create separation among the Iranian Islamic community and when it continued the very role supported by the Colonial British government.

The political organization of Baha ism is active in all arenas

in the west region of Asia Coordinated with Zionism under their

supervision. Dung Pahlavi government; particularly the second

one after the solar month of Mordad 28th America – British coup 1332 S.H. till Bahman 1357 S.H., the Americans used this political organization along with Masonry and the Iranian Zionism presented in the society to achieve their goals. This political and security foundation is now playing the very role for the west particularly for America having Zionistic coverage.

Consequently, Hojabr Yazdani tried hard to fulfil his organizational aims as one of the actors of Colonialism. Other influential forces such as Abdul Karim Ayadi provided facilities for him to

achieve his aims.

Hussein Fardoust says in his diary, 1st Vol: “Hojabr Yazdani

changed into a power supported by Abdul Karim Ayadi and possessed extensive lands in Bakhtaran [Kermanshah and the west of Iran], Mazandaran, Isfahan, and etc. It became clear for me that all the money belonged to Bahaism and these transactions were done by his name for them.

Explain about Hojabr Yazdani’s relationships with political figures, political-economic foundations of Pahlavi regime?

Hojabr gained power supported by people related to the court, government and security-military foundations. He was supported by Ayadi, Nasiri, the chairman of SAVAK, and Mansour Rowhani, Ali Naqi Ali Khani, Houshang Ansari.

In 1357 S.H., when people’s campaigns were gradually lightened, the Pahlavi regime continued the show displayed before about arresting some notorious people in charge of government to decrease the scope of disagreements. So, Muhammad Reza Shah ordered Azhari to arrest 14 people.

Following this policy, Hojabr Yazdani was arrested as the plundered and imprisoned in the office Qasr prison head Colonel Moharrari.  A day before the complete collapse of Pahlavi government and the victory of revolution; that

is 21st of Bahman 1357 5.H, people faked possession of prison. So, Hojabr Yarzdani and Colonel Moharrari escaped from the prison and went to Costa Rica because Costa Rica wasn’t deporting the escaped criminals.

What’s happened for Hojabr Yazdani after the Islamic Revolution?

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution and collapsing the Kingdom system of government of Iran, the agents of Pahlavi regime confessed their crimes and betrayals against the Iranian people and some resorted their lords transferring their huge wealth. When Hojabr Yazdani arrived Costa Rica, he created relationships with the governmental people in charge of this country.

He established a bank in Costa Rica which was the second big

Bank of this country. It was concentrated on coffee exports. He died in San Jose the capital city of Costa Rica on Farwardin, 29, 1389 S.H.
