The Baha’is all over the world talk about high moral values and they say this is what we teach in our children moral classes. But if we see in the community it is exactly the opposite. In fact, one may conclude that these so called moral classes are just meant to spread immorality in the society. Here is the proof:

To the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of India,

Dearly loved friends,

Attached please find a letter by Mr. Shoghi Daas, former State Coordinator for Children Classes in Kerala, addressed to the State Baha’i Council of Kerala, requesting a Baha’i divorce from his wife Mrs. Rajesha. He has informed in the letter that he had already got the civil divorce in November 2012. He had informed verbally earlier that the process of seeking civil divorce had started on November 2011. They have two children from this marriage.

There are some further sad details attached to this incident which your Assembly needs to consider, as I am not sure if the Council would be able to address the same if the other facts start to surface!

It seems Mrs. Rajesha had been having extra marital relations with Mr. Gopalakrishnan, former State Coordinator and Auxiliary Board member since past 7 years. It had also been confirmed that they got married in a Temple in July 2012. Mr. Shoghi Daas knew about this marriage and he even participated in the ceremony. He confirmed that he had clicked photographs of the event too! Copies of these photographs are available. Mrs. Reena Gopalkrishanan, wife of Mr. Gopalakrishnan, current Auxiliary Board member and State Coordinator for Children Classes also came to knew about this unfaithful relationship around November 2010 nearly two and half years ago. She indicated that she had feelings and suspicions since long time, but it got proven for her only in the past two and half years.

When I had a personal conversation with her yesterday and asked her why she had kept this sad news to herself and allowed her husband to get into such a grave situation, she had no explanations, and it seems she was trying to protect her family and had hoped that Mr. Gopalakrishnan might come back to his senses and return back to shelter of family.

Anyway, since past few months I had been closely consulting with Auxiliary Board member to ensure both couples would return back to each other, and this shameful incident would come to an end. Mr. Gopalakrishnan, turned down twice my requests to meet with him personally, and it seems he is unwilling to put an end to this unchaste relationship. I believe he is very much aware about what he has done and its spiritual, administrative, and legal consequences.

I believe the National Assembly might wish to take this issue up and assist the State Baha’i Council to bring this issue to an end with least implications on the progress of the Baha’i community in Kerala, who is already facing multiple challenges at various levels.

Looking forward to your feed backs and guidance on this issue,

With loving Baha’i greetings
