A person claims to represent an organization. One of the ways to verify his credentials is to see whether his talks and claims about that organization are like that of the other well-known employees and representatives of that organization. If these are found to be in conformity his credentials would be verified and his identity as a representative of that organization would be established.

Applying this allegory to Baha’u’llah claim of being a divine messenger, we can easily check his credentials by comparing his message with that of the previous Divine Prophets. If they are in conformity his claim to divine Prophethood would be established.

In this series of articles, we thus compare the writings of Bahaullah to the teachings of the previous Divine Prophets.

We do have to be careful while scrutinizing the apparently attractive teachings of Bahaullah. However much appealing they may apparently look, if their base is not divine then they are void and invalid.

If a child needs to be given some sour medicine, normally such medicines are coated with sugar so that the naïve child consumes it without realizing the sourness beneath. In similar manner the abased teachings of Bahaullah are sugar coated to attract simple and innocent people to their cult. Thus, it is necessary to critically examine the teachings of Bahaullah to reveal what is underneath it so that we do not fall prey to his worthless ideas and are deviated from our lofty beliefs.

The following verses of the Holy Quran give us an idea about the Monotheistic beliefs promulgated by the Divine Prophets. They all spoke in the same voice and were united in their mission.

In Chapter of Hud(Chap.11), in verses 25-26, the Almighty says:

” And We sent Noah unto his folk (and he said): Lo! I am a plain warner unto you.”,

That ye serve none, save Allah. Lo! I fear for you the retribution of a painful Day.”

Again in the same chapter in verse 50, the Almighty says:

And unto (the tribe of) A’ad (We sent) their brother, Hud. He said: O my people! Serve Allah! Ye have no other Allah save Him. Lo! ye do but invent.”

In Surah Maida, verses 72-73, the Holy Quran says:

They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord. Lo! whoso ascribeth partners unto Allah, for him Allah hath forbidden paradise. His abode is the Fire. For evil-doers there will be no helpers.

They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the third of three; when there is no Allah save the One Allah. If they desist not from so saying a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve.

In Surah Al-Maidah -75, we come across the following verse:

The Messiah, son of Mary, was no other than a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) had passed away before him. And his mother was a saintly woman. And they both used to eat (earthly) food. See how We make the revelations clear for them, and see how they are turned away!

The Holy Quran in Surat Al-Baqarah verse 285 emphasizes that

We make no distinction between any of His messengers”

The Noble Quran also says In Surah Aale Imran,Verse 144:

Muhammad is but a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) have passed away before him.

Surah Al-Yunus Verse-104 says:

Say (O Muhammad): O mankind! If ye are in doubt of my religion, then (know that) I worship not those whom ye worship instead of Allah, but I worship Allah Who causeth you to die, and I have been commanded to be of the believers.

In Sura Al Anam verse-103, we find the following verse

No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things.

Also The Holy Quran says in Surah Aaraf, verse 194

the idols you invoke besides god are creatures like you.”

In Surat Al Anbiya- Verse 29, we see the following:

And whosoever of them says: I am a god beside Allah” and then we shall recompense him with hell, thus we recompense the oppressors.”

In Surat Al Anbiya-verse 25 it is mentioned:

And we did not send any Messenger before you (Mohammad) but we revealed him that there is no God but Me, therefore worship me alone.”

From the above verses we can conclude that the Divine Prophets, without any exception, invited mankind to the worship Of God and admonished us to be His best servants.

If Bahaullah claims to be one of the Divine Messenger and manifestation and sees himself and the Baab as links in this chain, then his message should also be in the same way and not contrary to it.
