An interview with Dr. Ali Reza Rouzbahani

Bahaismiran:

Bahaism looks at policy issue as a tactic. If it is in favor of it, it will enter into policy otherwise it won’t enter. The following is an interview with Dr. Ali Reza Rouzbahani, the researcher in cults and religions domain:

      – Is entering into policy is being posed in the organizational structure of Bahaism?

In 12 principles of Bahaism teachings, Abbas Effendi has announced that Baha’ism is claiming for not meddling with policy, one of the duties of the universal house justice is political entrances and there are contradictions in the teachings which indicate that Baha’ism looks at policy issue as a tactic and if it favors, Baha’ism enters the policy, but in general it claims for not entering into the details of policy and it is none of its business to deal with parties.

      – Is there any contradictory example?

Yes, there are several cases. We don’t deal with pre-revolution. However; after the revolution, they entered some periods of the Iranian election’s and supported the special candidate; for example, in 1388 sedition, the Baha’ism organization entered into political games in favor of a movement clearly and openly and it shows that it is a shameful lie for them to say we don’t enter into to policy and don’t pay attention to the details of policy and just comment on generalities. Accidentally, they enter whenever they consider it necessary. Or they enter into political movements outside the country and in political groups and parties of Europe and America; such as Canada, England, France, Austria, Norway, Denmark in political and security legislations.

-Concerning 1402 elections, has Baha’ism boycotted the elections or supported any Special candidate?

We didn’t see any distinct position, but definitely there is debate of opposing all political and social dimension of the Islamic Republic Iran and Baha’ism is definitely opposing the Islamic Republic as one of the serious opponents of the structure of the system of the government and is opposing elections to be feigned. We can observe that Baha’ism takes position against the elections in Instagram and X networks and etc. and the abolished network of Manoto was continually casting programs entitled inviting people not to take part in elections or Iran International network is debating about the lack of people’s participation in elections now when the Baha’i elements are active or Asoo site which is a Baha’i site has published in 1st  of Isfand a  matter which says that elections in an authoritative system of government is a means of stabilization or a means of transformation; that is; as a matter of fact, it introduces elections as the means for stabilizing the authoritative system of government and its clear meaning is that it invites people not to participate at elections and considers elections merely as a means for surrounding the threating of elites. So, it indicates that the Baha ism organization opposes participating at elections.

      – In some cases, we observe that some political parties are exploiting Baha’ism. How do you evaluate this approach?

Unfortunately, in some speech by the elective groups, this exploitation has been done and some members or elective candidates particularly the leftists such as reformists investigated Baha’ism issue to attract public attention or each political reason and told awful lies; for example, there are many Baha’i dead bodies on the ground and the Islamic Republic of Iran doesn’t let them be buried!

-As the last question, is there any relationship between Baha’ism and Israel?

According to me, defending Baha’ism is defending Israel. As Rouhieh Maxwell said 70 years ago that our fate bonds with Israel like the loops of a chain, I believe that the Baha’ism organization and Israel are a movement and are the loops of a chain. In the elective atmosphere of the country, if a person wants to move in a direction to achieve his/her political aims and to support Baha’ism, it will be considered as supporting Israel and the security forces must be alerted and careful in this regard.
