The Bahaism organization is one of the destructive and harmful cults. This cult is always trying to display a favorable and positive figure out of itself and to hide the reality which is inside the cult and the relations dominating on the cult by the policy of pretending to be oppressed. A nature which abdicates even rights and freedom of the members themselves. Consequently; in this article, one of the destructive functions of the cults; that is controlling and supervision over the members inside and outside of the cult are being investigated.

What is cults’ purpose for controlling?

The cults are trying not to let members leave the cult and to dominate on all of his/her life completely. The cult dictates the members to do the jobs, keep in touch and to get married at a certain time and with their elected person and etc. They plan for the person’ life time without any free time.

The depth of this damage will be displayed when we know the consequence of these controls.

Under such controls, the members are not free and these controls influence on their important decisions of their lives. Behzad Jahangiri says about the effects of such marriages: The marriage between Mrs. Raoufi and me was organizational. Like all other Baha’is, I didn’t get familiar with Mrs. Raufi, but the organization made us familiar. I was going to get married with a Muslim girl like my brother, but the organization elected the Baha’i girls for us. Later on, we realized that Sanandaj organization called Hamadan one to make us familiar with each other. In the familiarity meeting, I said I didn’t love this girl and she said so, but they said you can’t say no to this suggestion. They also ordered us to have a baby, too.

One of the other influences of this control is boycotting members and in some cases it may even end in the member’s death..

Sobhi says in this regard: “Shogi Effendi’s order had negative effects on many Baha’is and sometimes it caused homicide and murder. There was a Baha’i woman called Hajj Touti Khanom Hamedani.

She went to America to see her son. Shogi Effendi excommunicated her cos she didn’t have the allowance to go to America. when she returned to Tehran city, her daughters and grooms couldn’t see the mother because they were Baha’is and were afraid of the spiritual assembly. After a while, the old woman got ill and the spiritual assembly didn’t let her offspring to see their mother at the end of her life time. She died and her offspring didn’t chase her… .”[۱]

Ataullah Qaderi says about his memoirs after turning against Bahaism: “I saw that my offspring doesn’t have any problem and goes to Friday prayer alone and participates in group prayers.”[۲]

Seyyed Kazem Mousawi, the Bahaism expert says about controlling the members by the deviant cult of Bahaism: “In Bahaism organization, the members’ time is being controlled by commissioning, hobby and mental occupations. The members become busy by sectarian plans in order not to have time to spend for other issues due to being tired. Sending organizational statements and messages continually by universal house of justice and various planning to be executed in international level are of the other measures. Like most creeds, the Bahaism organization is using love bombardment because if they are able to control people’s relationships, they will be successful to control the person him/herself. When the person enters into a cult for the first time, he/she will be bombarded by love and the organization elects its friends for him/her. It is attempted for all person’s relationships with other people to be cut or decreased because the heads of organization are afraid of others to be influential on the members.[3]
