According to Islam, wisdom possesses high and developed position; that is, wisdom in Islam is the maximum one and meddles with all arenas. while in Bahaism, wisdom is in minimum level. Baha’ism considers the independent investigation of truth to be against imitation. In Islam, wisdom is one the main ways to achieve reality of human perfection, recognition and worship and slavery. So, each barrier in the path of wisdom is quite rejected. There are many verses which blame blindly imitating parents.
More than any other religions, Islam has invited human being to think.

The independent investigation of truth and challenges beyond Bahaism:
As the first and most important principle of Bahaism, the independent investigation of truth has created theoretical and functional challenges for Bahaism which is making this principle unstable; that is, Bahaism has confronted serious defaults in the domain of semantic framework of the independent investigation of truth.
A) Semantic challenges:
I) The lack of origin (genealogy)
Bahaism which considers itself as a divine creed and the continuation of divine religions like Judaism, Christianity and Islam (Hatchar and Martin, Bita: 11) must be aware of the principles and teachings of these divine religions and mustn’t introduce the independent investigation of truth as a new and developed principle without necessary genealogy (Shoghi Effendi, 1992 A.D.: 19) so that it has changed the world darkness into illumination and has made the world alive via this teaching (Abdul Baha, 1927. A.D., vol.2, 144).
II) The lack of definite semantic frame work:
The principles of each religion are the theological bases of it. Thus, they must be clear and explicit and free from concepts and explanations. For instance, the principle of monotheism in Islam means testifying the oneness of God. Anyway, the independent investigation of truth means being free in selecting belief or leaving religions, studying Bahaism, knowing Bahaullah or a kind of proselytizing aims in debate. Consequently, the semantic framework of independent investigation of truth must be interpreted explicitly in order to be posed as a principle for a claimed divine creed.
III) The independent investigation of truth was must be made clear: Because the position of the one whom God will manifest is assigned just to Bahaullah in Bahaism and legislating this creed has been done by himself, so the principles of this creed must be legislated by him. Thus, Bahaism and Abdul Baha are trying to introduce the founder of these principles as Bahaullah (while Baha hasn’t investigated these principles directly) and his speech is documented. For example, this Baha’s sentence is documented by Abdul Baha: Break imitation idols with monotheism strength (Abdul Baha, 1984 A.D. : vol.3, p. 408).
IV) The independent investigation of truth requires negating Bahaism:
According to Bahaism, the independent investigation of truth is removal each kind of imitation and creed inherited by fathers. (Abdul Baha, 1921 A.D., Vol.1, 139).
Consequently, Bahaism creed which is nothing but imitative for the current Baha’is is inherited must be removed.
B) Functional challenges:
I) The lack of performing the independent investigation of truth in Bahaism
The independent investigation of truth means studying and searching in Bahaism creed; so Bahaism proselytizers have considered themselves as being in able to do without the independent investigation of truth:
People like us who have spent our lives in independent investigation of truth and freedom don’t change our beliefs without any reason. (Zarghani, 1921 A.D.; 167).
While according to the principle of independent investigation of truth if the criterion is right seeking, function and belief of human being must be the permanent criterion and it’s meaningless to be said that we will not change our beliefs anymore because we have investigated the truth independently. White the criterion for human being must be achieving reality even he/she leaves his /her previous beliefs.
II) Rouhi plan and being disagreed with the independent investigation of truth:
As a person becomes mature and is responsible to investigate the truth independently, he/she must study all world religions equally to identify the best religion. This issue is impossible for a teenager who is newly-matured and also it is quite rejected considering this issue that the Baha’i faith has educated the Baha’is since childhood via compact and various educations and Rouhi plans while they haven’t had enough time to think about another religion or investigate the truth independently.
III) Bigotry and negating the independent investigation of truth:
The lack of bigotry with the ancestors’ creed is of the means of the independent investigation of truth, but the believers of this creed don’t regulate such principle and assume themselves as superior to others. The ex-Baha’i Sobhi writes:
“The Baha’is consider themselves as the essence and the fruit of the world and others as detained ones and assume themselves as the beloved and others as strangers. (Mohtadi,1386: 90)
Bahaullah justifies Bab’s historical mistakes while historical mistakes can’t be justified. Bab considers the Excellency David prior to Excellency Moses (Nouri, Bita: 18) while to the Excellency David is after the Excellency Moses.
IV) The lack of functional acceptance of the independent investigation of truth:
If a person in the community is free to choose belief and can choose his/her creed freely by independent investigation of truth (Huddleston, 1998: 389), his/her selection must be respected.
V) The lack of permission for studying the works other than the faith ones:
According to the reports by some ex-Baha’is, they weren’t allowed to study the works other than the faith ones. (Raoufi: 1385:49). So, some books which harm Bahaism will be deviated or vanished (Kashful Hiyal, vol. 1, p. 235). It is against the independent investigation of truth.
VI) The lack of permission for searching about the legitimacy of the universal house of justice
VII) Discrimination in independent investigation of truth: It is interesting to be said that the Jewish people in Israel mustn’t investigate the truth independently and proselytizing is forbidden in Israel. Even traveling to Israel and residing more than nine days without the permission of the universal house of justice are illegitimate and forbidden; otherwise he/she will be excommunicated spiritually.
VIII) The disagreement between social boycott and independent investigation of truth:
If the basis of theological tendencies of people is the independent investigation of truth, the Baha’i people must be able to select their beliefs freely, but they will be boycotted or returned forcefully if they select a belief against Bahaism. This boycott is the punishment considered by Bahaism for such people.
There have been prominent people who have turned against the deviant cult of Bahaism and been boycotted: Mirza Ali Akbar Rafsa njani, Ahmad Milani, Avarah, Ayati, Mahnaz Raoufi, Jahangiri and etc.
