The mentioned statistics about the real numbers of the Baha’is in various statements and informal Baha’i sources are 5-7 million people. This statistic seams exaggerative while it hasn’t been refuted by the Baha’i community so far. For example, the mentioned statistics from the Baha’is residing in India is more than 2 million people while the formal statistics of Indian government doesn’t confirm this issue in their population growth.
In Iran, although the Baha’i media announce the number of Iranian Baha’is as 300 thousand ones, but according to 1390 S.H. statistics, the total number of people who marked the word “others” for religion was lower than this mentioned-above figure of which includes the followers of Hindo, Sik, Saebi religions and etc. Indeed; the population growth has been reverse to some extent.
Maybe, the lack of presenting the real statistics by the universal house of justice and its concealment are as follows:
They want for unreal and exaggerative statistics announced by the Baha’is themselves to be applied as the criterion for computing by thinkers and researchers and the low number of Baha’is in the world which can make their social status to be lowered and never become distinct and the population growth not to be positive.
On the other side, they want to gain popularity in the presence of governments and international associations to earn economic, political and cultural incomes.
