Nearly 180 years ago, at the end of Muhammad Shah Qajar kingdom, a person from Shiraz city called Ali Muhammad claimed for Babism and being the special deputy of Imam of the Time (P.H.). He was clergyman and claimed for being Seyyed.
He learned the rudiment of religious sciences of that time. He was writing fast and traveled to holy cities of Iraq to complete his educations at the theological school and Arabic language having social intercourses with Arab people of Iraq.
At that time, the participated at Sheikh Ahmad Ehsaee’s classes. Stating materials concerning the principles of Shias’ beliefs, Sheikh Ahmad Ehsaee caused disunity in people’s beliefs.
Ehsaee considered resurrection as being not merely spiritual nor physical, but he claimed for human being to be appeared with a body more tender than the superficial and physical one.
He also omitted justice from the religion principles and substituted another principle instead of it: The forth pillar or complete Shia; that is, in each time and each place, a Shia can be the place for the conquering spirit of Imam of the time (P.H.) due to self-purification and acting the commandments and merely obeying God. For this reason, it is said that the world will never be without Imam of the time. This forth pillar and complete Shia is the very God’s proof on the earth.
He claimed for the spirits of all prophets to be created by God
physically and even the spirit of the holy Imams (peace be upon them), complete Shias and the forth pillar have been created and been existent years before their spiritual creations. He also claimed for the spirit of Imam of the Time (P.H.) to be created years before and whenever God desires and wills, he will be born from known parents.
Of course, most Sunnis believe in it so. When Elsaee said these statements, the Iranian people who believed in Imam of the Time (P.H.) to be alive for years and that he is the offspring of Imam Hassan Askari (P.H.) rebelled against him and the people of Yazd city dismissed him of their city.
In Qazvin city, people behaved him too and he had to leave the city. Due to these beliefs, Ali Muhammad Shirazi claimed for complete manifestation of Imam of the Time (May Allah hasten his reappearance).
The political and economic conditions of Iranian people were very dangerous due to the kings and rulers’ tyrannies. People were searching for a savior and rescuer.
In such circumstances, everybody was thinking of him/herself. Sayyed Ali Muhammad Shirazi (known as Bab) claimed for being the special deputy of Imam of the Time (P.H.) stressing on the necessity for economic and social equality and the necessity for wealth balance in favor of the poor.
This claim was accepted by 18 people who were clergymen without observing the claimant.
These poor people thought the rereappear is eminent and Imam the Time has elected Seyyed Ali Muhammad Bab as his special deputy.
This event caused some riots in some cities against the government including in Neysiz, Fars, Zanjan and Sheikh Tabarsi castle, Mazandaran.
Eventually, Amir the Great issued the verdict of Bab’s execution due to these reasons and after Bab encountered with the scholars and being defeated.
Tahirch Qorratul Ein, the daughter of one of the great scholars of Qazvin city was one of 18 people who turned to Bab. She announced the abolition of the religion of Islam. She said since today the establishment of the new religion is the interval period of time and God has let everybody to commit sin. Everybody is free to do every action during this period of time.
One of the reasons for people’s tendency towards Bab was that the was clergyman and his claiming for being the special deputy of Imam of the Time (P.H.).
