One of the first crimes of Bahaism leaders is Mirza Asad Allah Dayyan’s murder. Mirza Asad Allah Dayya was the author of Ali Muhammad Bab’s speech and writings and was of “Hayy” letters Babis. He knew many secrets of Babism emergence. He was killed ordered by Hussein Ali Baha.
Mirza Agha Khan Kermani, the Azali Babi and Mirza Yahya Sobhi Azal’s groom writes: “Because Mirza Hussein Ali considered Mirza Asad Allah Dayyan as disruptive, he sent Mirza Muhammad Mazandarani, his servant to kill him.”[۱]
Abbas Effandi continued his father’s trend, too. Ayati writes:
“Abbas Effendi continued this trend continually, that is, he tried to hang and uproot those opponents who knew secrets and discovered.”[۲]
Edward Browne, the master of Cambridge university points out a person called “Nasir Bagdadi” known as Mashhadi Abbas resided in Beirut city who was a professional killer and Mirza Hussein Ali Nouri’s hireling. He killed some people ordered by Bahaullah such as Mullah Rajab Ali Qahir, Ali Muhammad Bab’s brother-in-law who was aware of some secrets of Babism.
“Browne also points out the proselytizing activities of three Azali Babis in Acre and writes: “The Baha’is of Acre decided to kill him. First, they wanted to assign this responsibility to Nasir Bagdadi, but they quit; because calling him from Beirut might reveal the secret of murder. Consequently; On Zolga’deh 12, 1288 A.H. seven Baha’is entered into the mentioned person’s house in Acre and killed Seyyed Mahammad Isfahani, Agha Jan Kaj Kolah and Mirza Reza Qoli Tafreshi.
The government of Acre arrested Baha and his sons, Abbas and Muhammad Qoli, Baha’s brother and all the Baha’is were arrested including Killers. Baha, his sons and relatives were imprisoned for 6 days. Then, the killers were identified and imprisoned for 7 and 15 years.
In another place (margins of personal article “Sayyah” ۱st edition 1891), Browne points out this adventure and writes:
“The officials of the Ottoman government decided to exile two brothers to two various regions on Rabi’ al-Thani: 1285 A.H., Sobhi Azal and his followers were exiled to Famagusta (Magusa castle in Cyprus) and sent Hussein Ali Baha and his 80 followers and 4 Azalis to Acre.”
The 4 Azalis were as follows: Hajji Seyyed Muhammad Isfahani, Agha Jan Beig Kaj Kolah, Mirza Reza Qoli Tafreshi and his brother Agha Mirza Nasrullah. According to Brown; before departing towards Acre, Hussein Ali Baha Killed Mirza Nasrullah Tafreshi by poison in Aderneh (Adrianople) and a bit after arrival to Acre, three Azalis were killed by their relatives in their residential houses in Acre port.
Mirza Agha Khan Kermani has spoken about the Baha’i cult’s heads’ murders in details in “Eight Heavens” epistle. He writes:”Mirza Hussein Ali Baha killed Mirza Nasrullah by poison in Aderneh before heading off towards Acre and he sent several of his disciples in Acre and martyred these three people (Hajj Seyyed Muhammad, Agha Jan Beyg and Mirza Reza Goli Tafreshi) in a house near Qesheleh. Their killers were Abdul Karim Shemr, Hussein Abkesh and Muhammad Jawad Qazvini.”[۳]
According to Mirza Agha Khan Kermani; in Iran, the disciples of Hussein Ali Baha created a wave of assassinations and killed Azali influential people and decided to kill Agha Abdul Ahad, Agha Muhammad Ali Isfahani and Hajji Agha Tabrizi, Hajji Fattah’s son separately and some escaped. Khayyat Bashi and Hajj Ibrahim Khan in Gandom Foroushi house and buried their dead bodies with lime…
These murders even included Mirza Hussein Ali Baha’s creditors:
“Also, Hajji Ja’far who owed Mirza Hussein Ali Nouri 1200 Liras and was to some extent quick to demand his money in Acre. They encouraged Mirza Agha Jan Kachal Qazvini to kill that old man at night. They threw him down from the upper floor of the caravanserai saying that he had thrown himself down.
Also those disciples who weren’t deceived by Mirza Hussein Ali Baha were martyred in each region. For instance, the Excellency Agha Sayyed Ali Arab who was of the first Hayy letters was martyred in Tabriz city by Mirza Mostafa Naragi and Sheikh Khorasani. Also, Mirza Bozorg Kermanshahi who was of the greatest Seyyeds and the Excellency Agha Rajab Ali Qahir who was of the letters were martyred in Karbala by Naser Arab and his brother Ali Muhammad was killed by Abdul Karim Shemr in Bagdad.
Mirza Abul Qasem commissioned the thief of Bakhtiyari from Acre to go to Istanbul to kill him. Accor According to Mirza Agha Khan Kermani; after Mirza Hussein Ali Baha’s death (Zolga’deh, 2, 1309 A.H.) these murders continued. The first victim was Mirza Muhammad Nabil Zarand the famous Baha’i historian who dreamed to be Baha’s successor. Hussein Ali got aware and sent two people and suffocated that lame man and threw him in the river.”[۴]
Hajj Sheikh Zakariyya Nasrul Islam was of the heads of militia who fought against British colonialism and its interior agents. He was martyred in lunar month of Rajab 1331 Α.H. by Yosof and Ja’far Qoli when he came out of bathroom when he was 52 years of age.”[۵]
Seyyed Abul Hassan Kalantar’s murder is of the controversial ones of the Baha’is. He was murdered at night in a party and this adventure caused people of Sirjan to rebel against the Baha’is and killed Seyyed Yahya Sirjani who was the Baha’i killer of Katantar.
Ordered by the spiritual assembly of Yazd, the Baha’is killed Muhammad Fakhkhar who was insulting Bahaism and made his dead body fire. First, the direct agent of murder called Soltan Nik Aeen was arrested and then 12 famous Baha’is of Yazd including Muhammad Taher Malmiri, Mirza Hassan Noosh Abadi and Hussein Sheida were imprisoned due to their participation in murder.
All members of this group except for Soltan Nik Aeen were acquitted after 14 months of imprisonment due to the Baha’is influence.
