Undoubtedly, each cult which possesses remarkable teaching or more influential proselytizing method is more successful than other cults in recruiting followers. Mostly, the increase in the number of followers is due to the proselytizing teachings and methods. As a directed religious movement which has been successful for nearly two centuries to recruit several million human beings across the world, Bahaism has probably possessed more influential or attractive proselytizing methods comparing other cults and schools.
Ending World War I and the failure of the Ottoman government, the exile periods of time and limitation of Abdul Baha’s activities in Palestine region finished and the leader of the Baha’is found new opportunity and chance to proselytize an for his creed.
A new world was opened up before him; a world whose residents weren’t aware of the challenges of Bahaism and Islam and they didn’t accuse the Baha’is due to abjuration of their ancestral religion.
Recruiting followers in the now atmosphere needed basic changes in Bahaism proselytizing method. – Active presence in the UN organization and various commissions and extensive activity in important issues like peace, human rights, environmental protection, kids, education and etc.
– Introducing Bahaism movement as a religious one which is separated from policy announcing the prohibition of the membership of the members of the organization in parties and political organizations.
– Being active in chanties and helping impoverished or disaster-stricken regions across various countries.
– Having strong organizational discipline which provides using all members across the world for mobilization in a timely manner.
– Encouraging the followers to emigrate to other regions and countries.
– A religious obligation requiring adherents to declare their presence and to register their residential place officially in the governmental centers which caused their presence to be registered in most countries of the world.
– A religious obligation requiring followers to engage in proselytizing (changing follower to proselytizer).
– Performing 10-year and 5-year educational and proselytizing plans in various countries.
– Using the similarities between the Baha’i teachings and Islamic, Christian and Hindi doctrines by the Baha’i proselytizers and authors in their allegories in countries where these religious are prevalent to foster conceptual affinity and enhance appeal.
