Hermann Roemer, the researcher, speaker, critic, author and Protestant Christian clergyman was born in Stuttgart, Germany. He became familiar with the proselytizing activities of Bahaism in Stuttgart and was going to search and study about Bahaism. He started the primary studies referring to research books of Edward Browne, the British researcher in Bahaism and Babism fields and Goldziher the German researcher. He investigated Babism and Bahaism more carefully and could illuminate the dark angles of this political cult for those who weren’t familiar with it at all particularly in Europe.
Hemann Roemer’s views:
He introduces Babism and Bahaism as a political- religious cult which is dangerous not a divine religion whose leaders have used violence, assassination and physical omission of opponents to achieve their goals.
He introduces Baha: histories and books as deviant and believes that the Baha’i leaders’ texts and teachings have been reviewed, revised and censored based on the transitions of the day.
Stating the Baha’i history and created differences among the claimants of leadership, Roemer believes that Bahaullah has betrayed his brother Sobhi Azal and usurped legal and legitimate rights of Sobhi Azal due to his seeking power.
Introducing the book Aghdas (the so-called holy book of the Baha’is), he believes that the complete text of the book has been hidden from Baha’is and non-Baha’is due to various reasons.
He doesn’t believe in chastity for the so-called prophet of the Baha’is and believes that he has committed many mistakes during his leadership.
He introduces Bahaullah as a greedy of honor, selfish, political and opportunist person.
He believes the story that Bahaullah has imprisoned for 40 years quite baseless.
Hermann Roemer believes that during the Constitution revolution movement in Iran, the Baha’is shouted unreal idealistic slogans and betrayed the national interests and the Iranians’ profits.
In his work, Roemer mentions semi-gnostic and Sufism tendencies of Bahaism and believes that Bahaism is a marine herb grown in Sufism world swamp. He believes the Baha’is have made an idle out of Abdul Baha in today cloth using Sufism tendencies and desires.
He believes that Bahaism’s semi-gnostic tendencies are too deep and extensive and Bahaullah’s viewpoint towards philosophers in Hekmat tablet is a superficial look.
In investigating the proselytizing trip of Abdul Baha to America, Roemer introduces Bahaism in America as Apocalyptica Sufism in which Hussein Ali Nouri is perked for them as returned Messiah.
He believes that Bahaism is the origin of Judaism in France; so that Jewish Direyfus played Key role in Abdul Baha’s trip to Paris. Israiliyyat changed into a bridge for the influence of Bahaism on France due to his all-out aids to the Jewish people in the east.
Additionally, Roemer emphasized that the Iranian Jewish people residing in Iran considered Bahaism cult as their allied one to challenge Islam.
According to Roemer’s view; during the Constitution revolution in Iran, Bahaism shouted the slogan of unreal realistic nationalism and betrayed national interests and Iranian profits. In this regard, Roemer mentions that Abbas Effendi planned against the Iranian democracy movement with British and Russian diplomats, so that he recommended the Baha’is of Tehran and Tabriz to take Muhammed Ali Shah’s side and prevented them to participate at Iranian constitution movement, too.
