There are various questions concerning Bahaism population. However, the main question is that what is the current population statistics of the Baha’is of the world? How many Baha’is are now living in the world? How many Baha’is are believing in Baha’i organization today? How has been the population growth of the Baha’is so far? The short answer is that nobody but the universal house of justice knows the reality.

Basically, finding the exact number of a political-social extensive group in the world and determining the number of believers and followers of Bahaism seem difficult and is needed to be searched. Additionally, the investigation of the real and exact statistics of the Baha’i community in the world needs for other parameters to be investigated in as follows:

      I) One of the dilemmas for acquiring the exact statistics of the Baha’is is the problem of some creeds and accepting several religious teachings at the same time which makes computing the real number of Baha’i people in the world difficult. A group of people in the world believe that they can believe in several creeds at the same time. This feature is prevalent in some countries such as India. For example, many people who call themselves as Baha’i today are just Bahaullah lovers and consider him as a so-called noble and universal peace lover, but they aren’t Baha’is indeed. That is, they don’t know the Bahaism organization and nor obey it. Nevertheless, they behave based on their creed orders Hinduism or other existent creeds in India.

An example of this statistics is mentioned by William Garlington, famous American author and researcher who has been the member of Baha’i community for 20 years and then left the creed as his Ph.D. thesis. He has written about group proselytizing of the Baha’i creed in Malwa, India. He has searched about the emergence of the Baha’i creed in India in details and writes in an article entitled “The Baha’i creed in India, a progressive strategy: “The Baha’i creed grew among illiterate peasants who thought Bahaullah is the very Avatar (the promised one of Indians). The peasants who accepted the Baha’i religion, but they never left their conventions because according to them accepting the Baha’i creed didn’t disagree with idolatry or worshipping cow. “

This issue is also true in some African countries and far tribes. Consequently, it seems presenting the statistics and claiming for the existence of 2.2 million Baha’is in India in 2001 comparing the formal statistics of Indian government announced as 11000 Baha’is are not true.

Also, after Jains creed became formally recognized in Indian country. This issue was opposed by the Baha’i organization and a commission was formed by the Indian government to investigate the issue

II) According to Baha’i creed texts and orders, each teenage Baha’i is responsible to investigate the truth independently after he/she becomes mature. So, he/she is registered in the Baha’i statistics.

Addressing the Iranian national assembly dated Shahrul Asma, 6, 102 Badi’a, Shogi Rabbani determines the entrance of legitimate maturity age as 15 & 21 for social maturity.[1]

According to the mentioned instruction, the Baha’is who are under 15s mustn’t be included in the statistics while since 1986 A.D., the Baha’i organization has included a lot of kids, newly-born babies and even teenagers as Baha’is. It shows that the Baha’ism cult is going to increase its population.[2]

III) Another phenomenon which must be investigated in the Baha’i community is the statistics of those who have left the cult. This number must be subtracted from the statistics. It can be concluded that the informal statistic estimation cannot be trusted.

IV) In a period of time, the universal house of justice announced that the Baha’is can introduce themselves as Muslims in questionnaires presented by the governmental officials.[3] It indicates that there is a kind of hiding in the real statistics of the Baha’is in private and public association of Bahaism.

      V) After the Islamic Revolution, a great number of the Baha’is out of 250000 Iranian Baha’i left Iran; however, the Baha’i websites still announce 300000 Baha’is living in Iran. It means that the living organization of the deviant cult of Bahaism doesn’t show the necessary honesty in presenting the real statistics of the Baha’is.

      Conclusion:

Baha’i community The don’t tell the reality about the statistics of its members in order to achieve its goals. It can be definitely said that the number of the Baha’is in Iran and across the world is much less than what has announced by the Colonial satanic organization of Baha’ism.
