The activities related to the Baha’is in the United Arab Emirates during the current years particularly in domains related to religion dialogues, family, youth and social co-existence have been expanded cooperated with some formal foundations of this country.
Meantime, the cooperation between the Baha’i assemblies and Baha’i delegacy office and co-existence ministry of Emirates conferences in holding summits and conferences related to family, social stability and co-existence values have attracted some observers and critics.
According to published reports, the Baha’i organization signed an agreement with a research center in Emirates aiming the development of scientific and social cooperation in a summit related to civilizations in Abu Dhabi last year.
In contrast, some critics of this trend believe that such cooperation can expand the Baha’is cultural and social influence in Emirates.
These groups evaluate holding family, summits, common prayer programs and in visiting non-Baha’i neighbors in some gatherings as an attempt to increase social presence and decrease public sensitivities towards the Baha’i activities in this country.
To critics, concentrating on concepts like “laxity” and “co-existence” doesn’t have merely cultural usage, but it can be a field for normalization more and provide the Baha’is activity and presence in Arabic countries nearby the Persian Gulf.
