The punishment of boycott is exercising in Baha’ism while this cult has posed the teaching of independent investigation of truth as one of its teachings. However, the first step to approach certainty and leaving imitation is questioning and suspicion; but a Baha’i is not allowed to question about his/her beliefs and the system of the leadership!
The second leader of Baha’ism has considered a principle called the independent investigation of truth and quitting imitation as the innovative principles of Baha’ism in order to perk the Baha’i cult and provide the opportunity for attracting the non-Baha’is. He has also introduced the continuation of imitation as the agent for astray and establishing war: “Bahaullah’s teaching is the independent investigation of truth and human being must investigate the truth independently and quit imitation because the world nations possess various imitations and difference in imitations causes war, so the oneness of humane world will be impossible.[1]”
To investigative this principle it is necessary to be known that quitting imitation is in the domain of worldview and beliefs. In this case, Baha’ism hasn’t brought about a new word or principle because all divine religions; especially Islam, stress on the beliefs to be investigative. As the holy Quran says:
“… فَبَشِّرْ عِبَادِ ؛ الَّذِينَ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقَوْلَ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ أَحْسَنَهُ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ هَدَاهُمُ اللَّهُ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمْ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ” (زمر/۱۸-۱۷)
“Therefore give good tidings (O Muhammad) to my bondmen who hear advice and follow the best thereof.
Such are those whom Allah guideth, and such re men of understanding.” [Al-Zumar 17/18]
Yes; in Baha’ism, those who oppose will be boycotted and other Baha’is are responsible for cutting social intercourses and speaking with them. As Shoqi Effendi has said: “It isn’t allowable for you ti have social intercourses and speaking with the boycotted people.[2]”
Consequently, the punishment of boycotting is extremely exercised in this cult while this cult has posed the independent investigation of truth as one of its main slogans!
