Qolam Reza Azhari (Bahman 22, 1290 S.H. – Aban 14, 1380 S.H) entitled field marshal Azhari was one of the commanders of kingdom army before the Islamic Revolution. He was also the prime minister of Iran for 55 days and the head of military government since Aban 15, 1357 S.H. to Day 11, 1357 S.H.

Field Marshal Azhari was an influential Baha’is who was born in 1288. He spent his staff period of time in America and became lieutenant general in 1342 S.H. He had important jobs in the army such as: command of an army, the head of military university of the land force and the head of pillar one and special adjutant of Shah. After Sharif Imami government resigned on Aban 1357 he was appointed as the prime minister by Shah. He appointed the Baha’i lieutenant general Abul Hassan Sa’datmant as the minister of intelligent service.

Azhari played a key role in the people massacre when Pahlavi regime had announced military government. After escaping from Iran announced the existence of liberal army of Iran along with some people such as Ashraf Pahlavi, field marshal Oveysi, Field Marshal Bahram Aryana and several SAVAK heads. The army was called “Ara”.
