The commandment of excommunication in Baha’ism means the personal dismiss and omission for those who violate the orders of the leaders of this cult or oppose. In the punishment of spiritual excommunication, the former Baha’is is considered as the bearer of contagious disease who is not allowed to visit his/her family members. However, how does a creed which assumes its base established on the independent investigation of truth rule a punishment worse than death?!

The punishment of excommunication means the personal dismissal and omission of people who violate or oppose the orders of the leaders of this cult. The punishment of excommunication is harmonizing with the action of a Baha’i person administratively and spiritually. The former is separating the Baha’i person from the administrative organization and the next is that he/she isn’t allowed to visit his/her family members like the bearer of a contagious disease[1].

Consequently, we rea narrated by Shoqi Effendi: “You asked about those disciples who have turned against the administrative organization due to ignorance whether being invited to the public assemblies or not?

It is said: You are not allowed to invite them and to speak with them if it is the spiritual separation.[2]

Nevertheless; it is interesting to be known that it is ordered to be separated from the former Baha’is while Abdul Baha has considered isolation worse than death “pay attention, the existence of friendship causes affection and life and isolation causes death.[3]” however, how does a creed which assumes its base established on the independent investigation of truth[4] issue a commandment of punishment which is worse than death for the former Baha’is?!
