One of the sensitivities of martyr Ayatollah Madani was cults and deviant groups like Baha’ism that were active during Pahlavi regime in the cities such as Azar Shar, Hamadan, Nour Abad Mamasani.

Ayatollah Madani’s campaigns started since Reza Khan’s period of time. At those periods of time, Reza Khan had provided facilities for the Baha’i activities in order for the Iranian people not to turn to Islam and Shia scholars. So, Ayatollah Madani started his first activities and campaigns against the Baha’is of Tabriz city.

Martyr Ayatollah Madani started his political and social campaigns during his education in Qom city. (Golzadeh, 1381, p. 590)

Revelation and sanction against Baha’ism interests:

Reza Khan and his agents in the west preached Baha’ism to campaign against Isla, particularly Shia school so that in a short period of time the Baha’i investors in Azerbaijan particularly in the regions nearby Tabriz dominated great industries such as electricity companies. Ayatollah Madani who a\were studying in theological school of Qom city couldn’t tolerate the region’s unrest and headed off towards his birthplace immediately and started his campaign against Baha’ism. (Golzadeh, 1382 S.H., p. 51)

People boycotted electricity consumption due to revealing speech by Ayatollah Madani (P.H.) and used oil cooker to such an extent that the Baha’is left the city.

According to SAVAK documents, there are some reports indicating that Ayatollah Madani was even active when he was exiled. He had social intercourses with the people of each city where he was travelling in order to solve their problems. One of his activities at that period of time was campaigning against Baha’ism pointed out by SAVAK documents.

Building Mosque:

Ayatollah Madani was building mosque as a cultural activity in order to help people guided towards the religion of Islam. One of these mosques was a great mosque in Nour Abad Mamasani.

Mahdiyteh Mosque in Hamadan city was established and built by Ayatollah Madani as the center for campaign against Baha’ism. It is 50 years old.

Abbas Abad road region where tens of Baha’is were living was an important one for the Baha’is. Martyr Madani was aware of this issue. So, in the years 1347 S.H. and 1348, he decided to build a mosque called Mahdiyeh to mention the occultation of Imam of the Time (P.H.) and to awaken the ignorant.

Proselytizing and guidance

Ayatollah Madani believed that people must be invited to Islam by the way of proselytizing and guiding people in order to prevent expanding Baha’ism.
