One of the current cults which confronted against Islam, Shiism and Iran is Baha’ism. Of course, Baha’ism at first emerged in the form of Babism. Later on, it changed. Historically, this cult started its activity in Iran and its activity domains of this cult were cultural, social and political. The researcher in the field of cults, religions and history is answering four questions regarding Baha’ism.

 

Question 1: How do you evaluate the expansion of Baha’ism?

Baha’ism has tried to build a base for itself in each country. Today, they claim for being the most expansive movement in the world after Christianity. Of course, this claim is unbelievable. It is merely mean the expansion off Baha’ism. In order to stay alive, Baha’ism has had to be changed in form and has revolutionized its slogans from the basis and replaced them.  It has also changed its claims. Anyway, it has not been able to build a democratic base for itself. However, it claims for its expansion.

 

Question 2: You emphasized on the Baha’is concentration on spirituality less than other cults; but there is a vacuum of spirituality in this cult. How do you explain this distinction?

Baha’ism is trying to compensate the spirituality lack in the new generation by depending on Abdul Baha’s sermons (the second leader of Baha’ism). The so-called prayers said by Abdul Baha and have been gathered in the Book Sermons and the like are of the examples. Nevertheless, spirituality is meaningless in a Baha’i person’s life. This is, his/her lifestyle hasn’t been mixed with spirituality. However, they are using a combination of spirituality with modernism. The main slogan of Baha’ism is the spirituality which is in the same direction with modernism. For this reason the spirituality can’t be deepened. In Baha’ism, there isn’t any place for traditional spirituality.

 

Question 3: How can Baha’ism be defined in divisions? Is it considered as a religion? Or it is political and be applied for the political strategies and aims?

Scientifically, Baha’ism isn’t a religion, at all. It can’t be assumed as a religion. Because, it doesn’t possess the features of a religion. According to those who search in religions, it is a quite political cult and a political party which tries to liken itself to a religion.

A religion must possess a collection of continual ideologies which specifies the relationship of human being with God, the world, creation or the life after death. According to this ideology, the religious law and the practical commandments are formed. In most of these parts, Baha’ism is deficient.

 

Question 4: Explain about one of the scientific indexes contradicts with religions?

As I explained earlier, religion must possess a cultural and intellectual comprehensive system.

You can ask a Baha’i about the world after death. They can’t explain. It is a cult. It has political aims and; of course is used to deceive people.
